ABOUT
Chia-Hua CHIANG, a Baroque cellist born in Taiwan, graduated from the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. She trained under Prof. Rainer Zipperling, with a major in Baroque Cello and a minor in Viola da Gamba. She obtained her Master of Music in solo and chamber music in 2016 and 2019, respectively. Chia-Hua has frequently been invited to participate in early music festivals throughout Europe, such as the Zamus-Kölner Fest für Alte Musik and WDR3-Tage Alte Musik in Herne, and in Asia, such as FCCH Early Music Season in Beijing, Early Music Series at Tianjin Grand Theatre, as well as performances in Norway, Italy, and South America. Chia-Hua has performed regularly with the internationally acclaimed orchestra, L’arte del Mondo, based in Germany. Furthermore, Chia-Hua is one of the founding members of the Formosa Baroque Orchestra in Taiwan, and actively promotes early music on campus for the Taiwan Early Music Society. She also served as the lecturer for the Viola da Gamba Workshop in the summer of 2017 in Taiwan. In addition to Baroque cello performances, Chia-Hua is also quite active in chamber music performances with viola da gamba consorts. In 2018, she won first prize with the ensemble IJ SPACE at the Biagio-Marini Chamber Music Competition in Germany and third prize at the International Van Wassenaer Competition in Utrecht.

Chia-Hua Chiang, geboren in Taiwan, hat im Jahre 2012 ihren Master in der Abteilung für Musik mit Hauptfach Violoncello und Nebenfach Klavier an der Chinesischen Kultur Universität in Taipeh abgeschlossen. Sie war dort auch Cellolehrerin am TTEA Taiwan für die Suzukimethode von 2011-2013. Seit ihrem Abschluss mit modernem Violoncello spielt sie Barockcello.
2013 begann Chia-Hua ihr Masterstudium mit Hauptfach Barockcello im Institut für Alte Musik bei Prof. Rainer Zipperling an der Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. Während ihres Masterstudiums hat sie mit diversen Ensembles gespielt und unter anderem an Kursen bei Prof. Gerald Hambitzer und Prof. Richard Gwilt teilgenommen.
Seit 2015 studiert sie bei Prof. Rainer Zipperling und Prof. Ursula Schmidt- Laukamp im Master Kammermusik, ebenfalls in der Abteilung für Alte Musik. 2015 hat sie das Konzert Venus & Adonis beim ZAMUS Alte Musik Festival gespielt. 2016 spielte sie zusammen mit François Fernandez und Marc Hantaï im Formosa Barockorchestra in Taiwan. Außerdem studiert Chia-Hua seit 2016 an der Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln in einem zweiten Master Kammermusik mit Viola da Gamba bei Prof. Rainer Zipperling und Prof. Richard Gwilt, für den sie mit dem Ensemble „Gamben Consort Köln“ zusammenspielt. Im Sommer 2017 hat sie in Taiwan einen Workshop für Viola da gamba geleitet, 2018 mit dem Ensemble IJ SPACE beim Biagio-Marini-Wettbewerb den 1. Preis und und bei der International Van Wassenaer Competition den 3. Preis gewonnen. 2019 spielte sie mit dem Formosa Barockorchester auf zwei Alte Musik Festivals in China. 2019 bis 2022 setzte Chia-Hua ihr Studium mit dem Solo Master im Hauptfach Viola da Gambe bei Prof. Rainer Zipperling fort. 2021 hat sie mit der "Kölner Akademie" eine CD Aufnahme mit Klavierkonzerten von Johann Wilhelm Wilms eingespielt, im Juli 2022 wird sie mit der "Compagnia di Punto" auftreten.
Chia-Hua spielt regelmäßig mit dem Orchester L’arte del Mondo und Formosa Barockorchestra und Kammermusik mit den Ensembles IJ SPACE aus Holland und The Gleam aus Taiwan, mit diesen hat sie Tourneen in Südamerika, Asien und Europa absolviert.
